Sara Lamothe (Savant Artist)
Sara LaMothe was born in NYC and attributes her artistic talents to her multi-cultural upbringing which includes a Haitian, Puerto Rican and Irish trio of parents. Creative talent came naturally to Sara when by age seven she started creating abstract art using a single generic architecture's template and colored pencils.
Utilizing basic household objects for outlines, along with a variety of templated shapes, her artwork illustrates designs from whimsical to chaotic cohesion. Her primary tools include Prismacolor markers and soft Castle colored pencils.
Sara's personal goal and belief is to spread color and positivity worldwide because, color can change the world. She has taken a small step in this endeavor by setting a goal to donate unique artwork to a random children's hospital, one per state, starting with the A's. Past kids art can be viewed on her website.
Sara has successfully created 16 custom designs based on the person's choice of colors and personal theme. She interpreted the information and created a special piece which was sent to the collector along with her PayPal asking to be paid what they felt the art was worth to them.
As a past member of the local artist's group, Common Folk in North Adams MA, Sara has shown her art twice as part of the 'Bless The Space Between Us' exhibit, featuring artists touched by addiction in some manner. She was also featured in Jaamzin Creative as an 'Artist of the Day' in the June 24th edition, and as part of the special 'Artists reflecting on the Coronavirus' edition, March 23, 2020. Her most recent feature can be found in the 10th anniversary edition of Artist Portfolio Magazine which was published May 2020.

Gratitude Project
I've been steadily creating special 'Thank You' art cards to be donated to ICU units in one hospital per 50 states. Each hospital will receive four cards dedicated to the essential healthcare team in gratitude for their dedication during these incredibly trying times. So far 130 out of 200 have been made! Every card can be seen under 'G-cards' on my art Website.
Artist Porfolio Magazine Feature
I took part in the 10-year anniversary edition of Artist Portfolio Magazine. You can visit my feature here!
First Feature!
Everything starts with something small! For me, it's my very first request to be a 'featured artist' for a day via JaamZIN Creative. Here is the link to my 15 minutes of fame :)

ColorLoss
Do ALL Artists go through an artistic slump? I certainly do! My deepest apologies for the lack of Color lately, it seems life has turned a bit Greyscale temporarily. I'm starting to feel the Color Vibe again as pictured in my most recent Floral, I decided flora was the best way to get the creative juices flowing again!
An Artists Perception
Recently I had a conversation with a fellow artist from Deviant Art regarding artists' perceptions of other artists. You see, I've been struggling personally with my particular artistic style...wondering if other 'artists' would consider my art...'art' based on the fact I'm NOT creating something freehand. Yes, I can color like a Mofo, but I have drawing issues haha. I rely on geometry and pieces of various templates that I put together while playing 'artistic chess' in my head, to create a larger image. Am I toiling over a large canvas mixing oils with my palette knife? Nope, I'm brandishing my PrismaColors as my art weapon of choice. I greatly admire artists who can create 'emotion' as that is something I'm trying to accomplish abstractedly...the artist I was chatting with does graphic art, and I admitted to him that sometimes I had a problem recognizing certain graphic arts as 'real art' meaning, I can even plug something into a fractal program and hit Enter. But...the fractal artist is still creating beauty from their soul, sharing something that they envisioned or accidentally designed...so yes it is 'real art'. I may not be considered a 'true artist' by some and my agenda of 'spreading color & positivity worldwide' may sound ambitious if not delusional, but I do offer something genuine...a Shared experience between artist and admirer by creating something especially for them using Their color choices and Their idea...it Is a challenge for me to interpret something that they would hopefully enjoy and be proud to share. So far I believe I've created 15 custom pieces for people and each time I am Truly Humbled that they are allowing me to enter their homes with my colors :)Being an artist is something special...we may not be the wealthiest monetarily but we provide an unspoken service..We illuminate...We fascinate...We anger...We provide a part of humanity.
