Erieta Gajtani is a pioneering mosaic artist and the first woman in Tirana, Albania, to dedicate her life to the ancient art of mosaic. With over 20 years of experience, her work blends traditional techniques with a deeply personal and modern aesthetic, bringing life to stone, glass, and ceramic in ways that tell stories of resilience, beauty, and heritage.
Born and raised in Tirana, she was drawn to the visual language of mosaic from a young age, inspired by the rich artistic traditions of the Balkans and the timeless myths of ancient Greece. Greek mythology, in particular, plays a central role in her work, with goddesses, heroes, and symbolic motifs often appearing in her intricate designs.
In a field historically dominated by men, she carved her own path, becoming a trailblazer for women artists in Albania. Her mosaics explore themes of nature, Albanian folklore, and mythology, each piece crafted with patience, precision, and poetic depth.
She has held three solo exhibitions in Tirana and has participated in a group exhibition alongside other notable artists. Now sharing her art with a global audience, Erieta continues to create from her studio in Tirana, driven by a passion to preserve and evolve this timeless art form.
