Biography
Tony Briffa is a contemporary Maltese ceramist based in Denmark. Since the early eighties, he exhibited in a significant number of national and international juried exhibitions, drawing the attention of art critics and collectors. Briffa was awarded the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant in 2015 and the Malta Arts Council Grant in 2016 and 2018 for his ceramic sculptures.
Tony Briffa was born in 1959, in Malta, where he studied ceramics, obtaining a distinction diploma from Tarġa Gap School for Craftsmen. Briffa exhibited his works in Denmark, Italy, Malta, Romania, Croatia, France, and in the USA. His ceramic sculptures are in the public collections in Changchun International Ceramics Gallery, Changchun, China, Museo della Ceramica di Grottaglie, Puglia, Italy, Cluj-Napoca art Museum, Romania, Heritage Malta, Valletta, Malta and Spazju Kreattiv, St James Cavalier, Valletta, Malta.
