I make stuff.
Be it music, writing or art.
In this case, the art is predominantly digital, although I do use elements of collage, drawing and painting too.
I'll let you in on a little secret. I know very little about art. However - as I say - I do know a lot about making things. I've always had lots of ideas and find it almost impossible to give up on them. When it comes to music or writing, I have a reasonable level of control over the outcome of whatever I'm doing. With art, it's all rather up-in-the-air. At times, the finished product bears very little resemblance to my original idea - although it may well be good. Other times, I end up with more-or-less what I'd hoped for. Let's not forget the in-between times too - they also can yield interesting results.
I didn't really consider myself to be an artist until relatively recently. I made the covers for many of my albums, so that probably counts. As it was, I only then would have considered it to be a hobby. Having said that, people bought the albums and they made money. I guess that's something like professional.
I have always believed in maintaining a sense of mystique around any kind of creative pursuit. The same applies to the person making it. It's hard to kill 200 words and not give too much away.
