Thomas Merceron a été récemment diplômé de l’ENSAD de Paris après un court passage à Duperré.
Aujourd’hui, il utilise le dessin dans la presse (notamment pour le New York Times, le New Yorker et l’Hémicycle dont dont il a fait la couverture cette année), l’édition (pour les magazines Métal Hurlant et Kiblind), et plus rarement dans le mobilier urbain.
Il travaille en parallèle sa pratique artistique à travers des dessins au pastel, à l'encre de chine, et également au dessin digital. Il partage ses créations originales dans des galeries, mais également des magasins d'arts, et des librairies contemporaines.
« J’aime parler de pudeur dans un monde où l’image est phare, de la solitude cachée derrière une fausse confiance, d’un sourire qui n’en est pas. Ce n’est jamais très long comme histoire, mais c’est ce qui me vient à l’esprit quand je dessine. »
Il a eu à l’occasion lors des Puces de l’Illustration 2022 de remporter le 1er prix de l’illustration Contemporaine.
