This album contains newly created photos. This is a continuation of my favorite themes, in search of new means of expression.
All images are made in enclosed space using black painted walls whilst experimenting with long shutter speed. The shapes created by movement live and die together. Movement compositions created on the wall mirror an effect similar to hypnosis. Light is also playing an important part, constantly reminding its importance in transformation in movement.

Exhibition Concept Photography cycle “On The Black Wall” - pandemic caused dialogue with yourself, time, boredom and unknown. All images are made in enclosed space using black painted wall whilst experimenting with long shutter speed. The artist itself is the main character in the pictures. The shapes created by movement live and die together. The black color - not only is a great decor for a wall, pandemic caused claustrophobia symbol, but it is also brilliant comeback for a real raw process of photography - birth of an image in the dark from the dark. Movement compositions created on the wall mirrors an effect similar to hypnosis. Light is also playing an important part, constantly reminding its importance in transformation in movement.

C'est une activité très intéressante de chercher une « paire » pour cet objet, en utilisant l'intuition et les associations. Les photos deviennent comme les pages d'un journal intime.

It is a very interesting activity to look for a "pair" for that object, using intuition and associations. Photos become like pages of a diary.

Biografia
Tania Serket è una fotografa professionista. Ha iniziato a lavorare come art editor in una casa editrice e successivamente come fotografa per riviste di interior design.
Principalmente tutte le sue immagini sono realizzate in spazi chiusi utilizzando pareti dipinte di nero e sperimentando tempi di posa lunghi. Le forme create dal movimento vivono e muoiono insieme. Composizioni di movimento creano sullo specchio a parete un effetto simile all'ipnosi. Anche la luce gioca un ruolo importante, ricordando costantemente la sua importanza nella trasformazione in movimento.
Tania Serke è una fotografa lituana che vive a Vilnius. Ha studiato musica e pittura presso le Accademie lituane ed è riuscita a pubblicare diversi album fotografici d'autore, tra cui "Interni in Lituania", "Vita all'interno del paese" e più recentemente: "Musica congelata. Teatro nazionale dell'opera e del balletto a Vilnius".
Partecipa regolarmente a mostre collettive e personali in Lituania. I miei lavori sono stati esposti anche in gallerie negli Stati Uniti e in Francia.

July 1–26, 2025 Tania Serket’s solo exhibition Red Ribbon will be on view at “Prospektas” Gallery (Gedimino Ave. 43, Vilnius). The opening will take place on July 1 (Tuesday) at 5:30 PM.
In this solo exhibition, Tania Serket presents her new analog double-exposure photographs created in 2023–2024. The works on display come from the series On a Black Background, Red Ribbon, Equilibrium, Foldings, and Transfigure.
Red ribbon, or that which is important — this could be considered the leitmotif of this photographic cycle if we were to liken the art of photography to a theatrical work. All compositions were created in the same place, with the same character and similar props, while the variety of forms and meanings is found in light, movement, and layers of double exposure.
The cycle was created by capturing still lifes and “catching” the figure's movements against a black wall and combining these different materials. The still lifes act as decoration, while the figure is an insignificant character allowing the effects of light and color to emerge.

New album release
The album "Frozen music: The National Opera and Ballet Theatre in Vilnius" has just been released. It was a great honor for me to contribute to this project as a photographer.
"The design of the National Opera and Ballet theater in Vilnius began in 1960, and its construction was completed in 1974. It has been home to theatrical art for almost half a century. This book, which is dedicated to the architecture of the theatre, outlines a multi-faceted narrative as if looking through the drawn curtain on the theatre's stage through the eyes of different storytellers."

Sehr surreal und geheimnisvoll wirkende Fotografie. Man weiß nicht genau was eigentlich passiert. Das Gesicht ist nicht zu sehen, ist durch eine art Sonne ersetzt, was dem Bild eine ungeheurere Aura verleiht. Großartig!!!
