"Tami Notsani has the art of squaring the world, like a found sculpture or a drawing by default." Christian Bernard, honorary director of MAMCO Geneva, and of Printemps de Septembre in Toulouse Born in Israel in 1972, Tami Notsani left her country in 2000 to come and live in France. After scientific studies, she turned to photography at the Jerusalem School of Fine Arts, Bezalel, then completed a postgraduate course at Le Fresnoy, national studio of contemporary arts. Through a practice that unfolds between photography, video and more recently installation and participatory performances, she develops a reflection on identity, intimacy, memory, transformation and transmission. ... Tami Notsani's works have been presented in France and abroad in numerous institutions and contemporary art events, including: the European Month of Photography, MNHA, Luxembourg, "Au bazar du genre", MUCEM, Marseille, Mamco, Geneva, Nuit Blanche, Paris, Emily Harvey Gallery, New York, Ashdod Museum of Art, Israel, and the Rencontres Photographiques d'Arles. Her work is featured in several collections and institutions such as the CNAP in Paris, the MAMCS in Strasbourg, the departmental collection of Seine-Saint-Denis, Mamco in Geneva, the Ashdod Museum of Art, and the Discount Bank in Israel, as well as in various private collections in France, Israel, the United States, Hungary, Switzerland, and Italy.
