Series of works: ON THE RED LIST
The painting LIONESS #10 is an expressive modern artwork that shows the lions vulnerability to climate change and poaching. It shows a lioness graphically in side view, monochrome on raw canvas. The painting takes up the color of the climatologist Ed Hawkins' Warming Stripes and symbolizes the effects of climate change on the leopard. The lion is on the Red List of Threatened Species. Habitat loss and threats from poaching continue to be the main causes of threats to the lion. The series of works "ON THE RED LIST" is an urgent appeal to the dangers of climate change and the effects of poaching on biodiversity. It's a powerful reminder that we have a responsibility to reduce the impact of climate change on wildlife.
The picture is painted with high-quality artists' acrylic paints on raw canvas and stretched on a stretcher frame.
