Née en Pologne, Hanna Sidorowicz
a suivi les Beaux-Arts de Gdansk avant de rejoindre Paris en 1985 où elle a terminé sa formation artistique aux Arts Décoratifs.
Elle a été très vite soutenue par des personnages décisifs dans le monde de l’Art tels que Pierre Cabanne et Cécile Debray.
Se sont alors succédées durant une vingtaine d’années, de nombreuses expositions en salons (dont la FIAC en 1990) et en galeries (France, États-Unis, Angleterre, Danemark..).
« La peinture d’Hanna Sidorowicz occupe une place singulière sur la scène artistique actuelle. Fortement marquée par les maîtres anciens – Léonard de Vinci ou Rembrandt – et par les grands peintres de l’abstraction américaine, elle construit une œuvre imprégnée de références brouillées ou allusives dans laquelle la figure et les éléments d’une architecture imaginaire émergent d’entrelacs calligraphiques ou des surfaces tremblées et miroitantes de la tempera. Son travail autour de l’idée du palimpseste et du fragment, véritables symptômes d’une obsession de la mémoire picturale, s’inscrit dans une interrogation actuelle sur l’art et l’humanisme, sur le devenir de la peinture.
Cet univers sidorowiczien peuplé d’anges, de visages de vieillards sages, d’ébauches colorées inspirées des toiles des grands maîtres du XXe siècle, produit une peinture cultivée et raffinée, sorte de pensée visuelle incarnée dans la matière colorée et la ligne. »
