Véronique Besançon est née à Marrakech en 1959, d’un père Français et d’une mère Russe-Hongroise. En 1965, sa famille s’installe à Paris. Elle poursuit des études universitaires en psychologie clinique. L’être l’humain est déjà sa préoccupation première et l’interpelle dans sa complexité et dans son essence. En s’intéressant au développement de la personne elle s’oriente vers le domaine de la pédagogie. Elle arrive à Montréal dans un cadre universitaire 1997 et elle adopte le Québec par coup de coeur. Elle y poursuit une carrière de conseillère en technologie éducative à L’Université de Montréal. Parallèlement elle explore l’art à partir de méthodes d’improvisation en danse contemporaine, théâtre, écriture automatique, peinture.
Artiste autodidacte, et depuis maintenant plus d’une dizaine d’années, elle explore l’amalgame de pigments dans un geste libre de l’abstraction picturale. Comme les couleurs et les mots dessinent sa réflexion, Véronique Besançon développe une recherche artistique qui utilise l’intériorité personnelle pour tenter d’en comprendre la complexité humaine. Elle crée des univers qui établissent un dialogue entre ses personnages. Ils reflètent des lieux, des moments présents, des lâchés prises, développés sous forme de début d’histoires, faisant ressortir l’essence humaine. Elle documente son parcours artistique par des recueils où se mêlent peintures et poésies.
