Françoise Dagorn

Françoise Dagorn est artiste peintre autodidacte née en 1970 dans l'Hérault. Après avoir eu la chance pendant 20 ans de vivre dans des endroits merveilleux (Seychelles, Hawaii, Polynésie Française, Réunion), elle est revenue dans sa région natale. Au cours de cette vie riche d'un point de vue émotionel, la peinture s'est présentée à elle comme une opportunité parfaite pour livrer tout ce qu’elle a ressenti au contact de ces îles tropicales et de ces cultures différentes. C'est aux Seychelles que sa vie artistique a démarré mais c'est à son retour en France en 2012 qu’elle a développé son approche personnelle. Sa principale source d'inspiration vient des beautés du monde marin. Fascinée par les formes harmonieuses de la nature, sa peinture acrylique y ajoute une touche colorée, imaginaire et lumineuse. Elle peint les formes de ces animaux marins en apportant un aspect tonique et vivant grâce à la gestuelle de la lame du couteau. Une fois qu'un sujet l’inspire, elle le dessine puis vient le moment de créer le relief qui va lui donner vie. L'acrylique est alors appliquée par bandes parallèles, en superposant un camaïeu de couleurs improbables laissant libre cours à son imagination figurative. Ses toiles évoquent l’immensité de l’océan et la liberté qu’elle donne à ses sujets.

En partageant son amour pour les animaux marins, elle souhaite sensibiliser à la protection de la biodiversité marine. “Créer une émotion est un premier pas vers la prise de conscience et c'est ce qui guide ma peinture“.

During the past 20 years, I have been lucky enough to live in some truly beautiful places including The Seychelles, Hawaii, French Polynesia, California, La Reunion Island, and not to forget my home, and current base, in the South of France. During these years I was able to discover fantastic landscapes and a multitude of cultures, each richer than the last. The colors, the lights and the moods that I encountered in these different places fascinated me. Seychellois artists such as Henri Nigel, George Camille and Colbet Nourrice gave me the wish to paint. Colbert Nourrice that Learnt me how to look at and immerse myself in my surrounds and paint with sincerity.
I use the knife to paint because I like the movement of the blade. The painting knife allows me to give the works a tonic and alive aspect. I am inspired by nature and especially by the fluidity of marine animals that immerse me in a world of harmony but so mysterious.while respecting the beautiful forms from the magic of nature, my acrylic paintings seek to color the bodies of these animals as if they were living canvases.
