Art image bankRodolfo V. Ortiz, Spanish / American Artist / painter. Feb 24/65, Barcelona Spain. Born to Dolores Rodriguez Mendez, and Otilio Ortiz Margarida.
As a self-taught artist / painter I believe that an artist work should reflect on its own and without the help from any one from the art-world as a good work of art will most likely give you the sense of having a soul of its own but most importantly, the ability to get its message across. I have been inspired and moved by different artists specially at the beginning of my career, of course I will also have to say that growing up in New York City, also had a big impact on my work as well, I mean what better place to learn the arts than New York City.
My goal has always been to create something different and unique, a work that can be defined as one of a kind and that can easily be distinguished from one another by just observing it and without the need for the artist signature on the artwork. I myself call it Cubist Rope, and that was exactly what I have always been trying to accomplish, so there’s more to my work than just a signature on a canvas. I do art because that’s what I do and is part of me, and most importantly it fulfills me as a painter, you know how Paul Gauguin wanted to start a revolution well that sort of statement was what really inspired me to start my own revolution, but my revolution is not about religion, no far from it is about taking the art one step further and not a moment too soon. I also fingerprint all of my canvases on the back for authenticity purpose, I am just an Artist / Painter who makes art nothing more nothing less, but I also work hard at improving my skills as a painter and I take art very seriously, so no banana taped to a wall here.
Artistic Style.
Rodolfo Valentino Ortiz (RVO) is known for his unique “Cubist Rope” technique and style, which blends elements of Cubism with his own innovative approach. Here are some key aspects of his technique.
Cubist Influence: RVO’s work is heavily influenced by Cubism, this involves breaking down objects into geometric shapes and presenting multiple viewpoints simultaneously.
Rope Motif: The “Rope” in his artwork often symbolizes connection and continuity. It is a recurring element that ties different parts of the composition together, creating a sense of unity and flow.
(RVO) primarily uses oil paints on canvas, which allows for rich textures and vibrant colors. This medium also supports the detailed and layered approach characteristic of his work.
Style: Geometric Abstraction: His style features a strong emphasis on geometric shapes and abstract forms. This abstraction helps to convey complex ideas and emotions in a visually engaging way.
Dynamic Composition: RVO’s compositions are dynamic and often asymmetrical, drawing the viewer’s eye across the canvas and encouraging a deeper exploration of the artwork.
