Renel Gómez Padrón was born May 14, 1970 in Pinar del Río, Cuba.
His first courses in drawing and painting were at the age of ten in the House of Culture, Province of Las Tunas. During the years of 1987 to 1989, he was under the instruction of the outstanding painter Francisco Villamil in the House of Culture of San Antonio de Los Baños, Province of Havana.
During the 90s, several of his exhibitions were exposed to different galleries of the Cuban capital. Although he has ventured into different techniques, such as acrylic, tempera, and watercolor, he prefers to work with oil, using the techniques of direct painting in a realistic style.
