Ray was born in central Pennsylvania but at a young age attached himself to the nomadic lifestyle of exploration. Experiencing the differences of life in a new city, town, neighborhood or simply a new relationship gives him inspiration for what he creates. Living in the beautiful city of Portland Oregon now Ray has become a part of the large artistic community there. He is very much inspired by the beauty of the NW.

I really liked your charcoals of the human form, but I know you could do much better working with live models rather than photos. It is simply a matter of developing your talent with sketching from a distance rather than up close looking at a photo. I also liked your designs of flowers...very interesting and pleasing...good form! Keep up the good work!
