Expos Collective (Listing)
Natalie has hosted two group exhibitions in The Back Room Gallery since May 2005. The first show was called "Eclectic," which included 9 other artists.
The second show was called "Back Room Gallery show No. 2" which included 6 other local emerging artists. More details about these shows will be available soon, to include photos and names/contacts/images of participating artists.
There will be another group exhibition coming soon this fall/winter, after renovations to the gallery are made.
The exhibits are always listed in the Green Bay Press Gazette's Sunday newspaper under the "Art Notes" heading in the "Life"
section.
Natalie also participated in three annual Einstein Project's "Balloon's on Parade," and "Butterflies on Parade" in which artists designs were hand applied to large fiberglass hot air balloon sculptures which were displayed in downtown Green Bay along the sidewalks and streets during the summer months, and then sold at an auction. 90% of the proceeds went to the Einstein Project, which is and educational institution for school age children specializing in the subjects of Science and Math education programs. She is about to start work on her fourth project with them this spring, which is a buttergly entitled "Retro flowers" which will depict mod 70s style graphics with little peace signs incorporated into the design.
Natalie is always interested in helping her community, not always for her own profit. She plans on using her talents on a voluntary basis whenever she can. She believes that art should be shared, not just sold.
As of March 2006, she is a studio artist at the newest art gallery/studio in Green Bay, the ARTgarage!(more to come.)

Expos Solo (Listing)
Natalie Vann exhibited her work in solo shows at the University of WI, Green Bay in Gallery 407 during her undergraduate studies there.
Her works included primarily acrylic paintings on canvas.
She exhibited in a solo show through the NEWIArts Council's Phantom Art Gallery, which existed in empty storefront windows in downtown Green Bay and was unfortunately censored for a brief time during that exhibit. The censored painting is called "One Woman," which depicts a partially frontal female nude figure. Although Natalie had a signed contract, passers-by complained to the Arts Council, and the "offensive" painting was removed unbeknownst to Natalie. An image of that painting will be added to this site soon. It is still available for purchase and is currently showing in downtown Milwaukee as of Nov. 3, 2005, that is. An art curator acquaintence described the work as being "innocuous" and talked to the Arts council in Natalie's behalf. The said painting was the guest of honor at an arts board meeting which Natalie was NOT invited to attend. Natalie jokingly stated to Tina Quigley, executive director, that her painting was "not properly dressed" for such an occasion. It was all a mystery to Vann, as to why she was not invited to speak for herself, being the producer of the work. She stayed calm waited patiently and after the board met to discuss "One Woman,"
the vote was in Vann's favor: the painting was returned to the show for the remainder of the exhibit.
Natalie talked to a newpaper reporter when it was censored, but they felt that there was no story. That is why she is telling it here.
Since then, the Phantom Art Gallery does not exist any longer. Natalie was one of the last artists to exhibit in that venue in 2003 in the city of Green Bay, WI.
She continues to exhibit and host group shows in her Back Room Gallery/Studio in Green Bay, WI

I consider myself to be a conceptual artist. I work in other mediums besides paint. I am starting to work in film, have always worked in photography, and
have several installation concepts in the making. I draw my ideas from the human condition and psyche and I take from my own life. It is imprtant to me to impart some sort of feeling or concept to the viewer through my work in a way that i hope they can relate to personally.
I try not to limit my creativity by sticking to one medium only. I make what I feel. I don't like the idea of pigeon-holing myself to one particular style.
It seems impossible for me to do so. Look for me in shows upcoming in the Midwest USA and who knows, possibly Ireland as well.
that's all for now. Peace, Natalie.
