Biography
A Fine Arts graduate of University of Santo Tomas, major in Advertising Arts, Pingol works in pastel, exploring the still life, the portraiture, the cycle of planting and harvesting, and Eros.
A fervid colorist who started out as an animator for Toonworks, Pingol has a fresh, seductive palette that he puts to good use in filling up his proscribed universe of people, objects and sundry settings.
His figures, particularly of women in various poses of dishabille, are a welter of sensual gazes and poses. The dominant style is unmistakably surreal, the mood Gaugainesque, yet the pervading ambience is replete with signs and meanings of an uncharted world.
