Created during an artist residency in Hiroshima Prefecture in the fall of 2024, "It's a very beautiful day" extends their sensitive exploration of memorial sites, begun in 2024 with "Fairground," portraits of descendants of the Oradour-sur-Glane massacre. This work profoundly transformed their relationship to traumatic memory and continues to inform their approach to documentary photography. In Hiroshima, Pierre & Florent expected nothing. But as soon as they left the train station, a shiver ran through them. They looked up: an immense sky, a blue of almost unsettling depth. This sky, still and indifferent, bears witness to a past that remains vibrant. On October 13, 2024, they captured this sky at the Peace Memorial Park, where flowers replace bombs, where everyday life exists alongside the shadows of the past. These images, suspended and embroidered with fragments of indigo, make up It's a Very Beautiful Day. A title borrowed from the words of the Enola Gay's co-pilot in his diary entry of August 6, 1945. A terrible sentence in its banality. A sentence to which, 50 years later, Yoko Ono's voice responds: “Hiroshima Sky is Always Blue

En duo depuis 2010, Pierre et Florent se sont rencontrés autour d’une passion commune pour l’image expériementale et documentaire.
Leur premier projet intitulé Heroes under the waves (2010 - 2013) place la performance au coeur de leur expérimentation photographique et video. En associant la mise en scène et le costume, la fiction et la performance, ils abordent des thèmes tels que la perte de sens des nouvelles générations et l’avènement de nouveaux hérauts.
Par la suite, l’expérimentation de la photo studio les conduit à s’intéresser à de nouvelles thématiques. Avec Les idiots de l’image (2013 - 2014), ils questionnent les identités, leurs clichés et la déformation du réel à travers les genres de l’autoportrait et de l’autofiction. Représentés par la galerie Pristine, à Monterrey au Mexique, ils ont déjà été exposés au Mexique, aux États Unis (San Diego) et en Europe (Paris, Bruxelles, Charleroi).
Depuis 2019, en parallèle de leur activité de photographes - réalisateurs pour la mode et la musique, ils réalisent une série de portraits intimes à travers le vêtement qui renoue avec leur goût pour la performance et la mise en scène. Ce projet intitulé Mémoire habillée est présenté pour la première fois à l’automne 2023 dans le cadre des Rencontres Photographiques du 10e à la Galerie Porte B, à Paris.
