Patrick Chad Young
A native Texan, I was born in 1976 in Abilene, Texas. I realized I was "artistic" at an early age and my third grade teacher was the first person to really encourage me to pursue art. She entered me in an art contest and I won first place.
It wasn't until my later teenage years that I became serious about being an artist. The summer after graduating from high school I moved to Taos, New Mexico to pursue an apprenticeship to Jerry Jordan for two years. During those years I traveled the U.S. and studied the fine art of oil painting alongside some great artists such as Ron Cheek, Cedar Goebel (the son of the late Rod Goebel) and several others. I experienced the pleasure of "plien-air painting" which is simply painting outdoors, and I saw my potential begin to grow as I developed my own style of expressionism.
I am currently a "free-lance" artist living in Bedford, Texas with my fiancee, and together we paint and create music.

I believe in painting by feeling and tapping into the source of energy, the spirit of art, that comes from painting on the impulse. The essense of this energy is what brings a painting to life...
