From New York, now living in Ireland, I paint and draw in abstract, art brut and neo-expressionist style with mixed media; oil, acrylic, oil stick and charcoal. I think of my work as celebrating our collective innocent ‘inner child’ alongside the fighting spirit of our ‘inevitable adult.’
I feel this expressive energy retained in the strokes, lines, forms and colours encompassing their fleeting application, yet everlasting presence.
I strive to create visual immediacy, often combatively intense. Initially, the viewer’s eye is in perpetual motion, eventually resting with their unique interpretation. I like to conceptualise my work as a bridge between fantasy and abstract reality that challenges our thoughts, perceptions, follies and wits.
I believe in ‘art for art’s sake,’ and only with the viewer, we together capture the transcendent power of art.
I have had the pleasure of exhibiting in NYC, Miami, Dublin, London, Milan, Madrid, Barcelona, Athens, Brussels, Paris, Amsterdam and Venice with sold and auctioned pieces in America, Europe and Australia.
