And I believe that one day, like the heroine of my painting, I will hide from the heat in the coolness of tangerine leaves, and along the stormy Rioni, embracing the houses hanging over the water itself, the bell ringing of the majestic Bagrati Cathedral will float...

Watercolor

Watercolor is a painting in which gum arabic binds transparent pigments revealing the support of the painting. The gouache, of identical composition, is opaque. A watercolor is a water-based painting on paper. We rarely speak of a painting for a work painted in watercolor. Watercolor paintings are considered to be a unique way to creatively represent dreams, illusions, emotions and luminous feelings using water soluble pigments. However, painting with watercolors can be difficult. It's a difficult medium to master, in large part because it can be ruthless and unpredictable. Mistakes are difficult to correct and its fluid nature makes it difficult to control. Yet it is these very qualities that give the medium its undeniable charm.

Pigments

Paint made with colored powder suspended in a liquid binder to obtain some paint or ink.

Analog Print

Technique which allows to fix on paper images by a photochemical process including the exposure of a film sensitive to light then its development and, its printing on paper.

Figurative

Figurative and colorful painting having taken the liberty of including all forms of art without border of cultural genre and geographic origin, without hierarchy of values between high and subculture.

Technic Printmaking

Printmaking was originally used to communicate. Exceptional technical characteristics make it a valuable artistic medium. The artist creates an image on a flat surface to make a print. "First the notes, then the letters, now the paints". With this aphorism, a friend of mine marked my creative biography. Well, the aphorism is correct: first I received my education as a musicologist, then as an art journalist... But "the paints" in this sequence had to be put forward. After all, as a child, I graduated from art school.

True, for over 20 years I have been hiding this fact… Fortunately, in 2018 I was able to return to painting. Masterclasses, thematic courses, workshops, and intensives with wonderful teachers helped to hone forgotten skills and find their own "voice”.

With this "voice" – as well as the voice of a musicologist and a journalist – I like to confess my love for this world and for its Creator. I am convinced that any person, wherever he lives, can be happy if he fills himself with gratitude for what he has and around him. And my message as an artist is this: there is a lot of things in our life that can bring joy, inspire and delight. And all this is very close, the main thing is to learn to notice.

The favorite subjects of my paintings are landscapes, still lifes, lyrical and funny scenes.

My special passion is Georgia. The culture of this country, before which I sincerely adore, maintains the fire of creativity in me and encourages me to do more and more work. I hope that through them I can infect my viewers with my feelings.

Now my works are kept in private collections in Russia, Australia, Georgia, Armenia. I work as an illustrator for a children's magazine and participate as an artist in various projects and exhibitions.

Since 2022, I have been a member of the international association of artists ASM-club and the Union of Russian Watercolorists.
