Personal exhibition of Olga Bezhina DICHOTOMIA was held in Krasnodar

Krasnodar Regional Art Museum named after F.A. Kovalenko presents a personal exhibition project of the Krasnodar artist Olga Bezhina "DICHOTOMIA".

The exposition presents more than 60 works, united by a unique style of the artist - tempo-rhythmic painting, partly going back to a creative interpretation of the legacy of Georges Seur and Paul Signac.

The dichotomy (the Greek "division in two" - a duality, a consecutive division into two parts, more connected inside than with each other) is the dominant leitmotif in the work of Olga Bezhina, due to the rhythm of the work and the specific nature of the artist's reconsideration of the environment.

Olga works in the open air of the Taman peninsula, experimenting with a spectrally clean palette, rethinking natural colors and reflecting in her works the optical effect of light and winds on the relief and color of the canvas. Plein air, in which Olga Bezhina creates landscapes, acts as a creative laboratory, where the most perfect scenic approaches are being sought, new solutions are being scooped up.

Each element of the picture creates a complex surface with iridescent, pure color - this is the most important component of Olga's concept. Color, rhythm, scale - puzzle, with the help of which the artist tries to "tame" the ancient land, fixing it with heavy, oil strokes.

In addition to earlier works, the exhibition will feature the self-titled cycle "DICHOTOMIA". Created on the Taman Peninsula, the historical site of the Greek-Sinian city of Hermonass, the cycle consists of two double-sided canvases divided into several equal triangles and having an indirect form of installation. On one side of the canvas is the rising of the sun in the east, the burning of the flame of the rhythm of color. On the other hand - the sunset, the west, the burning colors of the summer day, the grace of the sunlight dying out for several hours. In this case, the form of the canvas and the image merge with its contextual content. The east-west dichotomy reconciles the colorful mystery of the ancient land. Olga Bezhina's tempo-rhythmic technique, in which the cycle is performed, allows us to consider the picture not only in its volume and dynamics, but also to observe the changes taking place with it, depending on the incidence of light.

Olga Bezhina is an artist who creates landscapes, reinterpreted from the surrounding space of nature into voluminous structures. This is the work of "Particles", created by all shades of blue and turquoise. Its large strokes form a convex, complex texture, where each element is put thoughtfully, verified, like pieces of colored mosaic smalt. The exhibition "DICHOTOMIA" demonstrates the virtuosic performance of the technique and the bright tempo-rhythmicity of the painting by Olga Bezhina.

Краснодарский краевой художественный музей имени Ф.А. Коваленко представляет персональный выставочный проект краснодарской художницы                 Ольги Бежиной «DICHOTOMIA». 

В экспозиции представлены более 60 работ, объединенных уникальным стилем художницы - темпо-ритмической живописи, отчасти восходящей к творческому осмыслению наследия Жоржа Сёра и Поля Синьяка.

Дихотомия (греч. «деление надвое» - раздвоенность, последовательное деление на две части, более связанные внутри, чем между собой) – доминирующий лейтмотив в творчестве Ольги Бежиной, что обусловлено ритмичностью работ и спецификой переосмысления окружающей среды художницы. 

Ольга работает на пленэре Таманского полуострова, экспериментируя                   с спектрально чистой палитрой, переосмысливая природные краски  и отражая в своих работах оптический эффект влияния света и потоков ветра на рельефность и цвет полотна. Пленэр, на котором Ольга Бежина создаёт пейзажи, выступает в качестве творческой лаборатории, где осуществляется поиск наиболее совершенных живописных подходов, черпаются новые решения.

Каждый элемент картины создаёт сложную поверхность с переливающимся, чистым цветом - это наиболее важная составляющая концепции Ольги. Цвет, ритм,       масштаб - паззл, с помощью которого художница пытается «укротить» древнюю землю, зафиксировав её тяжёлыми, масляными мазками.  

Помимо более ранних работ, на выставке будет представлен одноименный цикл «DICHOTOMIA». Созданный на Таманском полуострове - историческом месте           расположения греко-синдийского города Гермонасса, цикл представляет собой два двухсторонних холста, разделённых на несколько равных друг другу треугольников и имеющих опосредованную форму инсталляции. С одной стороны холста изображён восход солнца на востоке, зажжение пламени ритма цвета. С другой стороны – закат, запад, догорающие краски летнего дня, грация угасающего на несколько часов солнечного света. В данном случае форма полотна и изображение сливаются с его контекстуальным содержанием. Дихотомию «восток-запад» примиряет красочное таинство древней земли. Темпо-ритмическая техника Ольги Бежиной, в которой выполнен цикл, позволяет рассматривать картину не только в её объёме и динамике, но и наблюдать изменения, происходящие с ней в зависимости от падения света.

Ольга Бежина - художница, создающая пейзажи, переосмысленные                               из окружающего пространства природы в объёмные структуры. Такова работа «Частицы», созданная всеми оттенками голубого и бирюзового. Её крупные мазки образуют выпуклую, сложную текстуру, где каждый элемент положен продуманно, выверено, подобно кусочкам цветной мозаичной смальты. Выставка «DICHOTOMIA» демонстрирует виртуозное исполнение техники и яркую темпоритмичность  живописи Ольги Бежиной.
