Biography
Olena Kucher is a contemporary Ukrainian artist. Passionate about the visual arts from an early age, she has acquired a solid foundation in art education and works with particular inspiration in oil painting technique.
Her devotion to the genre of still life is particularly noteworthy. The compositions of her paintings often deal with vintage themes. However, in parallel, she also creates paintings that vividly depict contemporary subjects. Her work captures the imagination of the public. Studying the subjects of these paintings is like travelling in a time machine, admiring scenes from different times and eras.
Elena is inspired by the works of 17th century artists. Therefore, oil on canvas is her favourite medium for creative expression. A palette with calm and noble colours is often preferred. To maintain authenticity, she paints exclusively from life. In her works she uses oil colours based on high-quality pigments and the cotton canvases are selected with the utmost care.
Elena actively participates in various art events and art exhibitions, thus demonstrating her talent to a wider audience.
Today she works in her private studio, where her creativity flourishes in an environment adapted to her moro-vision.
Many of her paintings are now part of private collections of art lovers around the world.

Art as a Mirror of Society: From Pain to Light
Art has always been more than just paint on canvas, lines in a book, or notes on a staff. Whatever a person engages in — painting, poetry, prose, cinema, or theater — their works always reflect reality: events and moods.
It only takes a closer look at the creativity of an artist or writer to see what fills their inner world. In a person’s work we can find anxiety or joy, hope or despair, faith or doubt. Every painting, poem, or play is not only the result of skill and technique, but also a revelation about the state of the soul.
Today, in contemporary art, we often encounter works that frighten us. Paintings, installations — many of them are filled with horrors, depicting violence, catastrophes, tragedies. Of course, this is also the truth of life, and it is important to talk about it. Such works become reminders of what humanity has endured, warnings that say: *“Look what cruelty leads to.”*
But a question arises: do we need to return to these themes all the time? Do we need to “chew over” pain and horror again and again, as if we are afraid to step beyond them? Yes, we often face frightening realities, but humanity has always strived not only for survival, but also for light. And if contemporary art shows us only the dark sides, don’t we risk getting stuck in this darkness?
I more and more often think: art is not only a reflection, but also a choice. We decide what our contribution will be. An artist may paint fear, or may depict hope. A poet may write about destruction, or about creation. A director may show pain, or the path of overcoming it.
And if we consciously fill our creativity with kindness and love, we will share this with people. There is already enough cruelty and suffering in the world. But artists, writers, musicians can become those who remind us: humanity was created for something greater and better!
I believe that if we create art filled with light and meaning, it will become a contribution to our common future. And that means not only our mood will change, but also our society. After all, light always has the power to dispel darkness.

Je woorden vatten prachtig de diepe essentie van kunst en haar rol in ons leven. Kunst is meer dan alleen een decoratief element - het wordt een brug naar emotie, een persoonlijke dialoog met het hart en de visie van de kunstenaar. De manier waarop je elke penseelstreek benadrukt als een verhalenverteller, resoneert diep en herinnert ons eraan dat elk werk een uniek verhaal met zich meedraagt dat wacht om ontdekt te worden. Ik ben het helemaal eens met je observatie dat kunst onze ruimtes transformeert en, nog belangrijker, onze emotionele werelden. Een zorgvuldig gekozen schilderij verfraait niet alleen een kamer, maar nodigt ook uit tot een gevoel van rust, vernieuwing of creativiteit. Het dient als een dagelijkse herinnering om even stil te staan, adem te halen en ons onder te dompelen in de schoonheid die ons omringt. Jouw uitnodiging om te vertragen en de complexiteit en diepte van kunst echt te waarderen is een broodnodige herinnering in de snelle wereld van vandaag. Dank je voor het benadrukken van de intieme en bijna therapeutische relatie die we kunnen delen met kunst - het verrijkt echt zowel onze ruimtes als onze ziel.
