In this story, the general conceptual idea of the exposition is most clearly traced – to emphasize the sacred value of the ancient Jewish cemetery located in Smilovichi, as a silent witness to human destinies that somehow passed through its land. The view of the cemetery is combined with the image of H. Sutin's canvas "Return from school after a thunderstorm" (1939), resulting in a rather dramatic plot, called by us "Children on the road of sorrow". The sight of running children against the background of tombstones that have been crooked from time is intended to emphasize the continuity of generations, and a withering tree viewed from behind a dilapidated fence symbolizes the natural process of continuing life.Under heavy leaden clouds, the gates of the cemetery are visible, which is in a dilapidated state, but their antique monumentalism characterizes the antiquity of Judaism, which has a continuation in the little visitors of the sacred place. Two homages of their marble and the original of Soutine's work are presented, according to which homages were created.
