Atom Hovhanesyan, geboren in 1981 in Armenië, is een kunstenaar die in de Verenigde Staten woonde en werkte. Al op jonge leeftijd toonde hij een grote gevoeligheid en nieuwsgierigheid, kwaliteiten die zijn artistieke carrière vorm gaven. Na een kindertijd tussen Algerije en Armenië, emigreerde hij in 1997 met zijn gezin naar de Verenigde Staten.
Aanvankelijk autodidact, ontwikkelde hij zijn passie voor schilderen en tekenen, beïnvloed door moderne meesters als De Kooning en Kandinsky. Atom perfectioneert zijn unieke stijl, waarbij hij abstractie, figuratie en neo-impressionisme vermengt. Hij gebruikt voornamelijk olieverf op doek en balpen op papier, media waarmee hij diepe en emotionele thema's onderzoekt.
Van 2013 tot 2017 vervolgde hij zijn artistieke opleiding aan de National Academy of New York en de Art Students League, onder leiding van Michael Grimaldi, Thomas Torak en Dan Thompson. Zijn werk onderscheidt zich door een samensmelting van abstractie en figuratie, terwijl hij inspiratie put uit de theorieën van het neo-impressionisme. Hovhanesyan creëerde meer dan 250 werken voordat hij in 2018 op tragische wijze overleed, en liet een artistieke erfenis na die gekenmerkt werd door gevoeligheid en technisch meesterschap.
