Kerr, oorspronkelijk afkomstig uit Groot-Brittannië, verhuisde in 2010 naar Hobart na uitgebreide reizen door Europa, Afrika, het Midden-Oosten en Azië. Zijn professionele achtergrond omvat werk als geoloog en milieuwetenschapper, wat een diepgaande invloed heeft op zijn artistieke praktijk.
