"...Mardis Gras est né d'une improvisation expérimentale, sur quelques années, à six mains suite à notre rencontre lors d'une exposition collective (Galerie 3.1 à Toulouse). A l'origine un trio avec Emilie Payros, Titos Kontou et Judith Latino, notre méthode consiste à peindre côte à côte sur un même tableau dont on discute très peu en amont.
Nous travaillons essentiellement à la peinture à l'huile sur de grands formats et nos représentations figuratives s'inscrivent dans un art intuitif et immédiat.
A part égale créateurs et interprètes, nous laissons nos inspirations se nourrir mutuellement et demeurons libres de revisiter les propositions de l'autre. Cette démarche, nous a amenés depuis notre rencontre, à approfondir nos échanges plastiques et développer un dialogue parallèle au delà des mots.
A travers une peinture "romantique et carnavalesque", nous nous approprions des scènes et des personnages mythologiques, originaires de cultures et d'époques diverses, qui, par leur caractère intemporel, offrent une source inépuisable de propositions esthétiques, tout en questionnant les notions fondamentales inhérentes à la condition humaine...."
