Claudia Zerbe, geboren in 1957, woont en werkt in Duitsland. Na het behalen van haar diploma in 1975 vervolgde ze haar studie aan FH Hannover voor communicatie en productontwerp, gespecialiseerd in grafisch ontwerp...

Ze gebruikt uiteenlopende media, waaronder conté op karton, potlood op papier, acryl op papier en krijt op karton, om werken te creëren die gekenmerkt worden door het expressionisme en het figuratieve. Tot zijn artistieke invloeden behoren meesters als Lovis Corinth, Max Liebermann, Max Slevogt, Käthe Kollwitz, Wilhelm Busch, Horst Janssen en Max Beckmann.

Claudia Zerbe werkte als illustrator van leerboeken en werkte samen met verschillende reclamebureaus voordat ze zich van 1993 tot 2021 wijdde aan een gespecialiseerde school voor intellectuele ontwikkeling, waar ze artistieke projecten en schoolkranten regisseerde.

Zijn artistieke betrokkenheid richt zich op menselijke gezichten en probeert de complexiteit van uitdrukkingen en emoties zoals angst, vreugde, verdriet, liefde, woede en walging vast te leggen en te weerspiegelen. Voor Claudia is tekenen een manier om de intensiteit, complexiteit en diepte van menselijke gevoelens bloot te leggen, een uitdaging die ze sinds haar studie nastreeft.

Ze wil dat haar werken de kijker onmiddellijk emotioneel raken en hen uitnodigen om de gevoelens die haar creaties bij hen oproepen en de relatie tussen de toeschouwer en het werk in twijfel te trekken. Deze dialoog tussen beeld en kijker vormt de kern van zijn artistieke werk.
