Iedereen die een potlood kan vasthouden, kan zichzelf een kunstenaar noemen. Al het andere hangt af van uw eigen wil en harde werk.
Ik ben opgegroeid in een gewoon gezin en heb een opvoeding genoten die ver van kunst stond. Ik vond de schilderijen van de oude klassieke meesters mooi, maar het idee om een penseel ter hand te nemen, kwam nooit bij me op.
Ik kijk terug op de jaren die ik heb geleefd, stel mezelf vragen en vind geen antwoorden. Maar wat is het toch geweldig om pas op je 50e te kunnen beginnen met tekenen! Ik heb geen enkele artistieke opleiding, prijzen of diploma's, maar ik heb een eindeloze wens om mensen schoonheid en vriendelijkheid te geven. Ik hoop dat je dat ook voelt als je naar mijn tekeningen kijkt.
Mijn voorkeur gaat uit naar pastelschilderingen, waarbij portretten van dieren en landschappen centraal staan. Je kunt er gemakkelijk uit opmaken in welke stemming de kunstenaar op dat moment was. Dat hoop ik tenminste. Dank je wel.
