David Benayoun, geboren in 1984, is een ontwerper en schilder die in Frankrijk woont en werkt. Opgeleid aan de Intuit Lab School, waar hij in 2002-2003 een upgrade in toegepaste kunst volgde, vervolgde hij zijn studie aan de Universiteit van Parijs 1 - Panthéon-Sorbonne. Hij behaalde cum laude een bachelordiploma in beeldende kunst in 2006, gevolgd door een Master 1 in beeldende kunst met onderscheiding in 2008. David Benayoun voltooide vervolgens zijn opleiding door in 2008 de CAPES d'Arts Plastiques voor te bereiden en te behalen, vervolgens door de Agrégation d 'Arts Plastics in 2014.
In zijn werk maakt hij voornamelijk gebruik van media als olieverf op doek, olieverf op papier, olieverf op linnen, pastel op papier, pastel op karton, houtskool en potlood op papier. Benayoun verkent een figuratief en impressionistisch universum, waar stillevens, schetsen en zwart-witte landschappen zich vermengen. Hij wordt vooral beïnvloed door meesters als Pierre Bonnard en Edward Hopper, wier impact voelbaar is in zijn werk over menselijke figuren, vaak afgebeeld op openbare of intieme plaatsen.
