Hij werkt op het gebied van reportages, volgt de ontwikkeling van anti-globaliseringsbewegingen, de omstandigheden van Zapatista-vluchtelingen in Mexico en het leven van Palestijnse burgers, en doet ook fotografisch onderzoek naar Oost-Europese migrantenvrouwen die bekend staan als 'verzorgers'.
Roberto Brancolini is geboren in Modena. Repubblica, l'Unita', il Manifesto, Avvenire, la Gazzetta di Modena, Famiglia Cristiana, l'Espresso, Left, la Nuova Ecologia, Internazionale en Carta hebben allemaal zijn foto's gepubliceerd.
