Passionnée de dessin depuis ses premiers crayons, Sophie a ensuite réalisé ses études d’arts graphiques et de communication visuelle à l’école Axe Sud à Marseille, où elle a développé et mûri son art dont les personnages et le style sont inspirés des contes enfantins.
Ayant d’abord démarché les maisons d’édition en tant qu’illustratrice, l’artiste s’essaie ensuite à la réalisation de petits tableaux dont elle fera sa première exposition.
L’année 2015 marque un changement dans le parcours artistique de Sophie : elle commence alors une nouvelle série de toiles non figuratives à la peinture à l’huile. Le travail de la couleur, de la matière ainsi que de la composition sont prédominants.
L’artiste continue aujourd’hui sa revisite contemporaine du pointillisme en réalisant cette fois une série de portraits. Dans ces nouveaux tableaux, les couleurs sont d’abord travaillées séparément puis appliquées successivement sur le support les unes après les autres rappelant la méthode d’impression en sérigraphie. Petit à petit l’œuvre se forme, ainsi que cet effet de matière et de relief.
Très sensible au travail des peintres impressionnistes, elle apprécie particulièrement leur utilisation faite de la lumière et de la couleur, ainsi que leur touche picturale.
Enfin, après avoir vécu à Marseille, Sophie a désormais posé ses pinceaux en Auvergne, puisant son inspiration au pays des volcans.
