Sandra Platas Hernández is een in Spanje gevestigde kunstfotograaf. Ze is geboren en getogen in Madrid, maar behaalde haar bachelordiploma in fotografie in Edinburgh, Schotland. Sandra heeft er bijna tien jaar gewoond en is daar niet alleen gegroeid als kunstenaar maar ook als mens. Ze was naar meerdere landen gereisd, waar ze de kans kreeg om haar stijl te ontwikkelen door haar levenservaringen en reizen.
Van jongs af aan is ze geïnteresseerd in kunst in het algemeen, van keramiek en handwerken tot kunst
schilderen en fotografie. Al snel raakte ze geobsedeerd door schoonheid. Ze wil alleen maar schoonheid laten zien, creëren en ontdekken, overal en in iedereen. Maar tegelijkertijd zijn ook leven en dood aanwezig in haar werk. Situaties creëren was en is nog steeds wat zij het leukste vindt. Haar werk valt op door haar vermogen om het gewone te ondermijnen in iets moois en unieks.
