Fotograaf Jean-Paul Fermet is een bekende. Zijn recente werken zijn sterk beïnvloed door sciencefiction. Hij schildert post-apocalyptische landschappen. In zijn foto's onderzoekt hij fysieke, sociale en psychologische opsluiting, isolement en de strijd om te overleven. Sinds 2016 werkt hij samen en symbiotisch met Nathalie FATON. Alle foto's zijn nu ondertekend FERMET & FATON. Op al haar creaties wordt deze vrouw gesublimeerd in de rol van stripboek of mythologische heldin.
Hiervoor gebruikt hij vaak sterk verzadigde en intense kleuren. Soms confronterend, soms provocerend, roepen zijn kadrering en composities sterke emoties op bij degenen die zijn universum betreden.
Jean-Paul Fermet is een inwoner van de Haute-Saône. Hij woont nu in Lons-le-Saunier en werkt daar (Frankrijk). Talloze tentoonstellingen, waaronder Art Capital in Parijs, hebben zijn werk getoond.
