Jim Fischer is een hedendaagse kunstenaar gevestigd in Jersey City. Fischer, een autodidactische schilder, begon zijn artistieke reis op zevenjarige leeftijd, waarbij hij zijn werk voor het eerst presenteerde in de gang van zijn basisschool, waar hij indruk maakte op anderen met zijn begrip van hoe de lucht de aarde ontmoet.
Door de jaren heen heeft Fischer een verscheidenheid aan artistieke periodes en stijlen onderzocht. Zijn vroege werk concentreerde zich op 'junk art', waarbij hij sculpturen maakte van gevonden voorwerpen. Vervolgens ging hij over op pastel- en aquarelstillevens, representatieve schilderijen uit het dagelijks leven en kopieën van meesterwerken. Zijn praktijk is sindsdien uitgebreid met experimentele beelden, glas in lood, mozaïeken, meubelontwerp en -constructie, tuinontwerp en interieurontwerp.
Fischer blijft een breed scala aan disciplines omarmen, gedreven door de inspiratie van het moment. Hij is ervan overtuigd dat als een ander iets kan bereiken, hij dat ook kan.
