Gouache (van Italiaanse guazzo) is een stof die een bindmiddel (glycerine) of een gegomd oplosmiddel op waterbasis (arabische gom) gebruikt. Dekkend en dekkend (in tegenstelling tot waterverf), mengt het gemakkelijk en verdunt het met water (temperaverf).
