Biography
Nichola Martin is an award winning artist graduating from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee in 2007. Since graduating Nichola has exhibited widely throughout the UK and has numerous works in private collections internationally. As well as working on her own drawings and paintings Nichola holds various workshops and classes throughout the year. From teaching the fundamental importance of drawing with the use of charcoal Nichola also teaches oil painting from beginner to advanced.

Charcoal Drawing Class
Starting Monday 17th April 2017, I will be teaching a Charcoal Drawing class at Forgan Arts Centre. This is a 10 week course on a Monday evening, 7pm - 9pm. The course will consist of working with charcoal from still-life. Students will learn about composition, measuring, tonal values, material choice and the techniques needed to create their own masterpice! All abilities welcome with no experience necessary. Spaces are limited so if anybody is interested please get in touch with myself or Forgan Arts Centre directly.

A prominent curved and domed building in the centre of Cupar in Fife has undergone a refit and makeover to emerge as a gallery and shop selling art and contemporary craft from the UK’s best designer makers.
From April 9th its 7 deep display window sills, ground floor and quirky basement have been filled with amazing painted furniture, paintings large and small; abstract and representational, award winning jewellery, beautifully made unusual bags, scarves and interior accessories, vessels in ceramic, glass and wood, mirrors and lamps …. From the really useful to the downright decorative or thought provoking!

hello hello hello, love charcoal drawing and totaly love your work ! knew you were good but was supprised how good (for a bird !) when i viewed all your new work. glad you made it, so many gave up after the degree show but the dgree show is just a stepping stone (and is a little bit pish) i will never stop wether making a living from it or just for the pleasure of it, getting loads of interest but no buyers, i'm in the visual art scotland exhibition in edinburgh next month and have a london gallery interested in the summer. we will have to catch up some time in the future, till then take care, alistair...x
