power in myself when life seemed to be the most challenging.
* The way this artwork took shape, slowly and gradually, made me take an insight into it.
Everything was quiet and calm then, all my thoughts in sync, when I felt a sense of belongingness, a magical connection with the surroundings. An aspiration, an intense desire to explore the unknown invoking a strong sense of hope and positivity in myself.
This painting has helped me to experience the emotional power inherent in me, in it's purest form.

Nivas Kanhere, a contemporary and award-winning Indian painter, sees painting as a language through which he articulates his life experiences. Born and raised in Kumbhej, a small village in the Solapur district of India, Kanhere's artistic journey began to take shape during his school days under the guidance of his teachers, who nurtured his talent and passion for art. Influenced by the simplicity of rural life and deeply moved by the experiences of farmers and women, Kanhere found inspiration in the rural culture that surrounded him.
Seeking to further his artistic education, Kanhere pursued studies at the Abhinav Art College in Pune and later at the prestigious Sir J.J. School of Art in Mumbai. Immersed in the vibrant art scene of Mumbai, he realized the unique perspective he brought to his work—a perspective rooted in the rural landscapes and narratives that shaped his upbringing.
For Kanhere, painting serves as a means of expressing the richness of his life experiences and the music he perceives in his natural surroundings. His artworks reflect a deep connection to his roots and a commitment to capturing the essence of ordinary life through his canvas.
Throughout his career, Kanhere has been recognized with numerous awards, including Gold Medals at the Manavsanket National Art Competition and the Kalavart National Art Exhibition. His accolades also include First and Second Awards at various art festivals and competitions across India.
