Don Nicola Capone was born on January 2, 1958 in Gravina di Puglia, Italy. Priest and Benedictine monk from Oliveto (Monte Oliveto Maggiore) lived in various monasteries: Rome-Florence-Brescia-London and Ferrara. He currently resides in Matera in the Monastery at the Sanctuary of Picciano. He studies at the Magistral Institute of Matera, and Theology in Monte Oliveto Maggiore. After the Priestly Ordination he attended the study of Don Ambrogio Fumagalli and the free school of the nude in Rome. Later he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence. He lived for 20 years at the San Nicola Abbey of Rodengo-Saiano in Franciacorta, where in addition to painting, he restored books and ancient prints in the Abbey's restoration workshop. The Toniutti' brothers from Bollate (Milan) made stained glass windows and mosaics for churches and public places on sketches by Father Capone.
