Nico Van Oosten

I was born in 1957. Although my father was a professional garden designer and my mother a good tailor, we had no connection to art. I liked to draw and paint, but did not do great things with my talents untill 1991. I became a member of an association of painters and followed lessons in oil and acrylic. In 2001 I began to make thematic art works I designed myself, sometimes inspired by photos I made.
From then on my works are bought by the public.
In 2002 I began to give painting lessons at the association and in 2004 I began to organise painting workshops.
In 2010 I was second in Expedition 2010, the price for amateur art in de province of Utrecht.

I had a very inspirational conversation with Bernadette Leydekkers, her work was leading my works. From then on, I made works like the ones that are visible in the galery A Book of Stories.

Fron 2019-2020 I followed an art course. The results are shownieuws in the gallery Structures. 

In the last couple of years I have been inspired by the dutch artist (painter) Wim Oepts and by Bianca Berends, who makes multimedia works of art.
