Nastaran Naderi

I was born and raised in Northern Iran, where my deep passion for environmental studies developed naturally. Spending weekends in the Hyrcanian mountain forests with my family nurtured my love for nature. These ancient forests, estimated to be at least 40 million years old, represent the densest forest area in northern Iran.During my upbringing, I actively volunteered for the Northern Forest Society. Through this experience, I witnessed the challenges faced in preserving the region's natural resources due to a lack of technical knowledge and sustainable practices. This inspired me to pursue a higher education that would enable me to make a significant impact in nature conservation and the development of sustainable solutions, particularly in the Developing World. As a result, I completed my undergraduate studies in Natural Resources Engineering at Allameh Mohaddes Nouri University in Iran.As awareness grows about the impact of climate change on our planet, sustainable development has become an increasingly important topic. The uptake and emissions of greenhouse gases from natural systems far surpass those generated locally, emphasizing the need for innovative solutions. I am driven by a desire to contribute to identifying these solutions and addressing any emerging environmental challenges.In addition to my engineering pursuits, I embarked on a mission to create visually captivating artworks that not only engage viewers but also convey a powerful message about our interconnections with nature. Completing my Msc in Natural Resource Engineering and gaining valuable experience as a waste management trainer, I found myself grappling with a deep sense of Eco-anxiety, particularly exacerbated by the global spread of COVID-19. In response, I proactively sought therapeutic expression through online painting courses and engaged in volunteering work.Recognizing the importance of training students in adopting Eco-friendly approaches, I believe they represent a vital part of the generation that can positively impact society through their awareness and actions. By combining my artistic expression with my commitment to the environment, I aim to contribute to a more sustainable and mindful future. I actively seek out sustainable alternatives for art materials, utilizing recycled or up cycled resources whenever possible, to minimize my ecological footprint and inspire others to adopt more sustainable practices.I firmly believe that art has the power to inspire change and create a more sustainable future. Through my Eco-friendly approach to painting and the emotions evoked through my art, I strive to be a beacon of hope for both the art world and the environmental movement.Currently, I integrate art into my teaching practice, as I recognize its immense potential to help students process the world around them in a collaborative and exciting manner.
