We do not realize how many symbols are encoded in our heads to understand the space and reality that surrounds us. Thanks to this, we can easily recognize objects, shapes, faces, and more. It is not a problem for us to properly recognize the subject despite the lack of basic information as it is in my work in the series "Faces and symbols".[...]
We do not realize how many symbols are encoded in our heads to understand the space and reality that surrounds us. Thanks to this, we can easily recognize objects, shapes, faces, and more. It is not a problem for us to properly recognize the subject despite the lack of basic information as it is in my work in the series "Faces and symbols". To create this series I was inspired by the works of the world's greatest artists, I tried to combine elements of the artist's work with my vision of their world. Presented at the solo exhibition "Project 3.0" in January 2022 at the Art Gallery in Warsaw; presented at the exhibition "Spring Salon 2021" at the Contemporary Art Gallery in Opole

Monika Mrowiec is a contemporary Polish artist and graphic designer whose work is characterized by a unique blend of contrasting metallic colors against subtle gray backgrounds, accentuated by dynamic splashes of paint. This distinctive combination imbues her paintings with a captivating atmosphere and character.

A recurring motif in Mrowiec's artwork is colorful portraits of animals, through which she seeks to capture their beauty and expressiveness while crafting unconventional settings and forms. Beyond mere representation, Mrowiec's paintings serve as a commentary on various events, inviting viewers to reflect and evoke emotions. For her, art is not only a means of expressing individuality but also a vehicle for stimulating imagination and discovering new perspectives.

Mrowiec embarked on her artistic journey in 2004 at Secondary Art School before pursuing further studies at the Art Institute at Opole University, specializing in Artistic Education and New Media. Her master's thesis focused on Street Art, which serves as a primary source of inspiration for her work. Drawing influence from renowned street artists like Banksy and Shepard Fairey, Mrowiec incorporates elements of their styles into her own creations.

However, Mrowiec views art as a playful exploration that transcends boundaries of style and generation, fearlessly blending ancient motifs with Pop art influences. It is this willingness to forge unexpected connections that distinguishes her work and underscores her artistic vision.
