More than any other form of expression, it seems to me that abstract painting requires otherness; it's a kind of collaborative creation, a collective effort! A work of art only truly exists through the gaze of the other, of the one who encounters it; alone in its corner, it waits, almost as if dead, then it comes to life the very moment it calls out to the one who stops and looks, touches their sensitivity, awakens their senses: calm, rebellion, appeasement, or reveries emerge, echoing a journey, buried emotions. The work, then, finds its reason for being, and for me, the reason to paint! After a journey of more than 20 years through South America, the Caribbean, and stays in Copenhagen, London, and New York, I live and work in Clichy and on the island of Bréhat.
