Maksim Shlafer

Born in Odessa, Ukraine in 1974. Since 1990 I live in Israel. In 2000, I graduated from the Open University of Israel in economics and computers. The year 2001
I graduated from the courses and worked as a Jewelery Designer.
In 25 years I was carried away by painting. I studied with a private teacher and with enthusiasm I myself devoted a lot of time to painting.
Love art. For me it is a way of communication.
My pictures are thoughts on different subjects, sometimes surreal. As a rule, my pictures are thoughts of the mind and emotions, sometimes only emotions.

Symbolism, surrealism, expressionism, kontseptualizm - the basic directions close to my creation. Not bound to specific areas or artists, I absorb in myself everything interesting  from Renaissance to Modern art. For me, painting is a way of dialogue, an opportunity to convey: thoughts, emotions, world outlook and sensations of the world. In my paintings I try to express what I see and feel in other favorite artists - philosophy, literature merged with music.
