Wood Sculptures and Wooden Objects of more than 400 years old Oak-Wood from the River Elbe.
This is the unusual basic Material of the Wooden-Sculptor Matthias Trott.
In his Work was carried out only with the Chainsaw as an Artistic Tool.
This over 4oo years old Oak-Wood have their own aesthetic Consistency and Storage. Each Oak-Pile bears the Traces of Previous Processing, has its own growth Characteristics and Structures.
By Preserving in the River Elbe, the Pile Wood for the artistic Treatment are a good starting Material.

Pfahlobjekt

Mit insgesamt 548 Werken haben sich 299 professionelle Künstlerinnen und Künstler aus dem deutschsprachigen Europa und anderen Ländern um den Andreas-Kunstpreis 2007 beworben – das ist ein ungebrochen hoher Zuspruch für diese renommierte Kunstausstellung im Oberharz.
Die Kunstausstellung wurde am 13.10.2007 in der Rathaus-Scheune in Sankt Andreasberg im Rahmen einer Vernissage eröffnet. Highlight des Abends war wiederum die Verleihung des Andreas-Kunstpreises – er ging an den Magdeburger Künstler Matthias Trott für sein Werk „Wächterin“, eine mit der Kettensäge bearbeitete, aus 400 Jahre altem Holz geschaffene eindrucksvolle Skulptur von über 2 m Höhe. Die weiteren Preisträger sind Susanne Feix mit der Fotografie „Baumwelle I“, Doris von Klopotek mit „Tanz der Schatten“ (Öl auf Nessel) und Georg Mankat mit „Nest II“ (Öl/Acryl auf Leindwand).
