Biography
Mari Katayama est une photographe et artiste japonaise. Elle est née en 1987 dans la province de Gunma, au Japon.
Née avec uniquement deux doigts à la main gauche et une hémimélie fibulaire, une malformation rare caractérisé par l'absence du péroné, Mari Katayama a subi une amputation des deux jambes à l'âge de neuf ans et a depuis transcendé cette situation au travers de projets qu'elle crée avec ses prothèses, avec des objets brodés élaborés et des auto-portraits en photographie, utilisant son propre corps comme une sculpture vivante.
