Charcoal

Drawing made with a branch of Willow or charcoal of charred Europe. It enables to obtain very deep blacks, precise traces, thin or on the contrary very broad, depending on the way it is used.

Pastel

Drawing made with a colored stick. It consists of pigments, a charge and a binder. A distinction is made between dry pastels (soft or hard) and fatty pastels (oil or wax).

Watercolor

Watercolor is a painting in which gum arabic binds transparent pigments revealing the support of the painting. The gouache, of identical composition, is opaque. A watercolor is a water-based painting on paper. We rarely speak of a painting for a work painted in watercolor. Watercolor paintings are considered to be a unique way to creatively represent dreams, illusions, emotions and luminous feelings using water soluble pigments. However, painting with watercolors can be difficult. It's a difficult medium to master, in large part because it can be ruthless and unpredictable. Mistakes are difficult to correct and its fluid nature makes it difficult to control. Yet it is these very qualities that give the medium its undeniable charm.

Technic Drawing

Drawing is a technique of visual representation on a flat support. The term "drawing" designates both the action of drawing, the resulting graphic work, and the shape of any object. It is also a representation on a surface of the shape (and possibly the light and shadow values) of an object or figure, rather than their color. There are a large number of drawing techniques: “Linear drawing” represents objects by their outlines, edges and some characteristic lines; beyond this limit, the drawing develops by representing the volume by shadows, often by means of hatching, incorporates colors, and joins, without clear transition, the painting.

Marcela Diaz, also known as Prema, is a multi-talented Costa Rican artist with several certifications, including hypnotherapist and happiness coach. Apart from her artistic pursuits, she has also worked as a Logistics [...]

Marcela has been painting since a young age, using it as a tool for expression and catharsis. She has been creating universes and planets for over two decades, using painting to help her vent out all kinds of emotions and states of mind. Her goal is to let go of emotions, without any judgement, and just let them be. Becoming a hypnotherapist and studying the mind has helped her understand the connection between creation and the messages from the unconscious.

Marcela's works are beautiful, well-saturated, and colorful abstract pieces, as she feels more comfortable with that style. She mainly works with acrylic on canvas and mixed media watercolor and acrylic on paper. Although most of her works are abstract and chromatic, in figurative pieces, color is the most important element.
