Malcolm Gibson
Hi, I’m Malcolm Gibson, and I grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona. I have pursued an interest in art since the age of 6 years. Throughout my art career/hobby, I’ve been fortunate in having the opportunity to work with several different mediums such as pen, pencil, marker, air brush, oil pastels, acrylic and oil paint, all of which I enjoy. My style is Abstract, which I personally enjoy because I find it intriguing that a person can view an abstract painting and find something in it that they themselves have helped create through their own unique perspective and imagination. The way an individual might interpret unique personal meaning from within a piece of art is what I find most rewarding. I am studying Aerospace and Mechanical engineering at the University of Arizona and pursue art as a source of valuable balance. Art will forever remain a passion of mine and I strive to remain a man of art, science, and philosophy.

My creative process is Abstract, through which I find rewarding and tend to somehow gain a sense balance. To be a part of an abstract art creation is unique because many people can look at an abstract painting and sometimes see and feel imagery and or symbolism that stimulates their own creative process. Not everyone sees the same things in any given painting, therefore their can be an infinite number interpretations of any one piece of this art. When I paint I try my best to create something that an individual might be able to identify or find some personal resonance with. Many abstract artists create works that may be challenging from which to find personal meaning and interpretation. I feel a painting that many people can view and inerpret in as many different ways will introduce more appreciation from a human perspective.
