Painting (on wood or canvas) is at the heart of my practice. I draw inspiration from the world of storytelling and strive to question non-linear narratives by working on what I call narrative installations. The result is a series of surrealist paintings that explore various questions surrounding intimacy, the home as a refuge, but also as a disturbing place. I enjoy testing the viewers' sense of observation by playing with the repetition of details, colors, shapes, characters, etc. Through this, I guide them through the stories I tell. Through my paintings, I create worlds where interiors and exteriors blend, and where reality and imagination merge.
My video work, or animated images, allows me to set these frozen scenes in motion. Indeed, my paintings are the raw material for my videos; I extract landscapes and characters from them, which I animate to develop the narrative framework of these paintings.
At the same time, I also work with linocuts, which allow me to create patterns that I can then print in series to make wallpaper, floor coverings, or wall hangings. These are used in my installations to transform exhibition spaces into intimate spaces, creating a setting in which I can showcase my paintings, videos, and sculptures.
