Tibor Kovacs

Szekszard, Hungary
Artist (Painting)
Born 1959

I was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1959. I attended elementary and secondary schools in Szekszárd. I went to Pécs to study arts there and I graduated from that university . I learnt and practiced how to use oil. My teacher was Ilona Keserű, who is an excellent and famous painter in Hungary.
After getting my degree I went on with my artistic work painting and teaching children.
At the end of the 80's I painted mainly portraits and special landscapes. These paintings were displayed several times.
In the 90's the topic and technique of my works changed. Subjective feelings form these new paintings. My paintings are patchy. I try to create characteristic brushwork. I had many independent exhibitions. This collection, which consist of 50 paintings, is more intimate and mature.
Colours and forms can be seen in these paintings, which symbolize reality and mystery of life.
