Jutta Rika Bressem is a contemporary German painter. She primarily works on canvas or paper in mixed media (acrylic, oil, pigments, oil pastel, coal). The artwork itself is a connection between the artist's current inner state of mind and her craftsmanship; while working, many ideas just come to her. She embarks on a search and follows her intuition, beginning with a series of illustrative sketches that are roughly sketched out in color and are later adjusted, rectified, rejected, or approved.
The artworks and theoretical concepts of Emil Schumacher and Joan Mitchell directly influence her work. The central importance lies in the composition, the color combination, and the application of lines as markers or connecting elements. Through the energetic overlapping of colors and techniques, she gives a chance ample space in each painting.
Jutta Rika Bressem was born in Germany, where she graduated from the Academy of Art and Design in Wiesbaden. She is a member of the International Association of Visual Artists and regularly takes part in national and international exhibitions (the USA, Japan, Italy, France, Poland, Switzerland, and Germany).
